The area is world famous for its wildlife. Take a pair of binoculars with you when you go out as you never know what you will see. Or take a trip out to sea and see what you can catch � but watch out for the Corrievreckan, the largest whirlpool in Europe, which is only a short distance outside the harbour of Craobh Haven. There is good fishing available in nearby lochs and rivers. Relax while you enjoy the beauty and romance of the West Coast of Scotland from this cosy base. Or spend a day in bustling Oban with its busy ferry port, its good restaurants and pubs, cinema and theatre. When it rains, a visit to the nearby Sea Life Centre, the Oban Rare Breeds Farm Park or the Highland Wildlife Park at Inveraray will be very popular with children (and adults!). Take a drive to Inveraray, the ancient seat of the Campbells, where you can visit the stunning Inveraray Castle or the famous Inveraray Jail. The village includes the outstanding Kilmartin Museum, which may shed some light on the mystery surrounding the standing stones. The village of Kilmartin will fire the imagination of any budding historian and archaeologist � there are 350 ancient monuments within a six-mile radius, 150 of them are prehistoric. This part of Scotland has plenty of castles to visit - ruined as well as lived-in. Spend a day in breathtaking Glencoe, ride the chairlift (if you dare!) to fully appreciate the spectacular views of this beautiful landscape. Further afield there are beautiful glens and lochs to explore. Pay a visit to the splendid Arduaine Gardens - one of the magnificent gardens of Argyll. In the immediate area there are plenty of trails for the walker to enjoy. Morvern Cottage is well situated for visiting many places of interest. For those that are not seaworthy, nearer to home why not drive across the bridge over the Atlantic to Seil and see the slate island of Easdale. If you would rather be a passenger then Mull, Iona, Jura, Islay, Tiree, Coll, Colonsay and Barra, as well as some of the smaller inhabited islands, can be easily accessed by ferry from nearby Oban. The islands of the Inner Hebrides are all within easy reach.
